Alle 10.20 siamo già in minivan, direzione San Francisco. La Signora Garret (il GPS) sembra non voglia uscire da Los Angeles e fa il possibile per farci restare. Scegliamo di non fare la Highway ed optiamo per la costa. Dopo tanti giorni di deserto, la vista del mare è fantastica. Arriviamo a Malibu, ma restiamo delusi perché le famose ville dei Vip non si vedono e la spiaggia è l’unica visuale che abbiamo! Ma poco ci importa e tiriamo dritto verso nord. Altra fermata, siamo a Santa Barbara. Ci concediamo finalmente una giornata di mare, Elfo fa addirittura il bagno ma l’acqua è gelata! Noi gustiamo dal piccolo pontile in legno il suo congelamento. Il lungomare, delizioso, è animato da sportivi di ogni genere, rollerblade, skate (rigorosamente brillantinati per le damigelle), bici di ogni genere.
Pranziamo fra barchette di pescatori, grandi gabbiani e surfisti (con la muta!) Alle 14,30 siamo di nuovo in marcia. C’è una strana sensazione nell’aria.
Siamo sulla costa, quello che per noi è solo una tappa per altri è tutto un viaggio, la West Coast.
Alle 22,00 entriamo in una montagna russa infinita chiamata: San Francisco!
Il primo impatto è terrificante, il mondo davanti al nostro minivan sparisce nel nulla ad ogni discesa. Scopriamo le famose strade di quella che scopriremo da li a poco essere una meravigliosa città.
Siamo a SAN FRANCISCO; MISSIONE COMPIUTA!
Nei pressi della strada più famosa della città (la Lombard Street, quella dai verdi tornanti ripidissimi) troviamo posto in un lodge dalle camere enormi. Abbiamo anche la piscina ma fa freddo e non credo che la useremo. Dopo il caldo torrido del deserto finalmente si respira aria fresca…. anzi …. “freddina”. Posiamo i bagagli ed andiamo verso il porto, inutile dire che… a quest’ora non si cena e…. finiamo al solito fast food! Buon notte, Thelma
Pensieri del giorno: E’ fatta, ce l’abbiamo fatta!!!! Però…. Che peccato!!! A chi dice che il Coast to Coast è un’ammazzata dico… ma che diavolo dite?!?!?!? Siamo pronti per rifare la strada inversa! Chissà, forse, un giorno….
Pensiero positivo: sono finite le infinite ore di minivan!
Pensiero negativo: Malibù…. ci aspettavamo vip, fotografi, mega ville…. invece niente di niente!
Consiglio del giorno: Se andate negli STATES, non mancate di fare un salto a San Francisco!

lol a handful of of the observations readers submit crack me up, time and again i wonder if they even read the post and reports before writing or if perhaps they simply just read the title of the post and generate the very first thought that pops into their heads. in either case, it is good to look over smart commentary from time to time instead of the exact same, traditional blog vomit which i more often than not notice on the net i’m going to play a smattering of rounds of facebook poker adios
